Who's Moving Where In Wealth Management? – Manhattan West, Raymond James

, the US investment house, has promoted Angie Spielman to founding partner. In 2016, Spielman joined Manhattan West’s chief executive and founding principal, Lorenzo Esparza, in breaking away from JP Morgan to launch the firm. Spielman began her career in New York at Bloomberg before joining JP Morgan Asset Management, supporting their chief US economist in the fixed income trading group. Spielman serves high net worth individuals and families, corporations and nonprofit institutions. “Where I grew up in Latin America, the patriarch typically assumes the role of managing finances for their family, but I grew up seeing my mother manage our family’s finances, inspiring me from an early age to take ownership of my financial health,” Spielman said. She grew up in Panama until moving to the US at age 15. “It is my passion to listen to and to guide women through financial literacy and education as their trusted advisor, helping them navigate the complexities of life events. I am exceedingly grateful for the opportunity to use my skillset and experience to uplift women, empowering them to live their best financial lives every day at Manhattan West.” Esparza, whose parents immigrated to the US from Mexico before he was born, said he is committed to building a diverse team at Manhattan West. Spielman's, chief administrative officer, Kate Kurz, who joined Esparza and Spielman as they departed JP Morgan to launch the firm, and business managers, Lauren Adovasio and Elizabeth Campos, are among the women managing the firm. The rise of such women in wealth management comes at a time when there is a sharper focus on the the need for diversity and inclusion in financial services. Raymond James
has brought in financial advisors Brandon Glasscock and Mandy Haskell to its independent advisor channel.
The duo joins Raymond James and Wealth Partners Alliance, a partnership of independent advisors affiliated with Raymond James Financial Services JFS, from Wells Fargo where they previously managed approximately $350 million in client assets. Together with registered client service associate, Sara Ferrell, they serve clients through customized planning and portfolio management strategies.
A Texas native, Glasscock began his career as a financial advisor at Ameritas in 2000. After gaining valuable experience at various firms, including Capital One, he joined Wells Fargo in 2007.
Haskell brings more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. She began her career at Commonwealth before transitioning to Advisors Asset Management and later Invesco where she focused on asset management. Haskell has been affiliated with Wells Fargo since 2018 until this most recent transition.
